Just a Blink of an Eye = Chapter 12

Just a Blink of an Eye
Chapter 12

Just a Blink of an Eye
Chapter 12

"Where to madam?" Dara woke him up so early this morning and told him that she wanted to go somewhere. Apparently, the young miss does not want to reveal where she wanted to go. As a result they have been circling the city for an hour now and he's getting tired. He's not complaining, really. Why would he complain if this is another chance to be alone with her. Completely alone with her. No Fake fiances. Ha!

He glanced at her through the rearview mirror, only to find her staring at him too.

"Up to you," she said. They stopped, for the stoplight turned red. He tried to see if she's still staring. Apparently, she already diverted her attention to a lone jogger on the street.

"I thought you wanted to go somewhere, ma'am?" Jiyong really wanted her to speak to him. He missed her voice so much.

"I forgot where it is located. Can you bring me to your favorite place then?"

"Sure. Your wish is my command." As soon as the light went green, he maneuvered the car towards their favorite place. "I hope you'd like it too."

---------------------------

"Stay here. I'll be right back." Jiyong stepped out of the car and run towards a shop around the corner. He was so fast!

I tried to let him talk and talk by not answering. His voice was really similar to the man named Jingyo. She's not sure if he is Jingyo. And she somehow feels so guilty for being with him right now.

It just suddenly crossed her mind to wake him up and go somewhere with him. When he had asked her where they are headed, she did not know what to say for she acted on impulse. She saw him sleeping peacefully on the couch in her room. She just blurted out that she'd tell him later.

He continued to ask her and talk to her, and that's what she really wanted. He never looked at her when they were alone in the car so when he had asked her once again, she was caught off guard. He had seen her staring at him. However, she had kept her face blank.

"Up to you," she had pretended to look at the man jogging alone on the sidewalk, engrossed in the music he's listening to on his ipod.

"I thought you wanted to go somewhere?" should I ask him if he is also called Jingyo?, I asked myself.

I realized that he's waiting for my answer, curiously throwing me glances while trying to keep his eyes on the road.

"I forgot where it is located. Can you bring me to your favorite place then?"

"Sure. Your wish is my command." As soon as the light went green, he maneuvered the car towards a place he only knows where. "I hope you'd like it too."

She saw him run around the car compartment and put some things in it. Dara did not see what he bought. He shut it close and in a second he's with her again inside the car.

"Are you ready?" he said, with a boyish grin on his face.

"What are we going to do?" Dara asked, eyeing him suspiciously.

"You'd love it there, I am sure."

-----------------------------------

"What?" he asked with an innocent look on her face.

"Are you expecting me to go hiking with this clothes on?" Dara asked incredelously. She's actually wearing a summer dress, gently swaying because of the breeze.

"It's okay. You don't have to worry..."

"I don't have to worry? But we ARE going to climb these mountains! And you are saying it's okay?"

Jiyong's face lit up. Haha. Very much like the first time we had gone to Bukhansan. He could still remembered how Dara nagged and nagged for ages while they were hiking the same mountain a year ago. She had asked him to take him somewhere they can be alone and this place was the first one that came up in his mind.

"Let me finish first okay? I bought us our hiking apparel so don't worry ma'am. Let me just get it for you."

He disappeared to the back of the car and came back with two back packs and two sets of clothes for the both of them. "Here you go." he handed out the clothes to her and put the bags down the ground.

She stared down at the clothes given to her. Where will I change? Is he thinking of letting me change clothes in front of him?!

She looked up once again and was momentarily shocked to see her body guard removing his upper garments without shame. Her eyes traveled from his outsretched arms, battling with his suit, to his bare upper body. He finally won aganst to tricky suit and throw it down near where he put the back packs. He bent down to get a lose shirt. It was a plain black shirt.

"Miss, As much as I'd like to let you stare at me like that for the whole day, I'm afraid we don't have much time. You have to change your clothes too you know."

Ooops. He saw me. Dara felt the blood rush up to her face. What an embarassing day!

She quickly turned around, her back to him. "I am not staring at you. I-its your fault anyway, if you don't want people to stare at you why did you bother changing in the open?"

"Hmm. Because it is easier? Now now. Princess. Go inside the car and change."

"You go inside the car and don't peek!"

"Are you serious?" he almost shouted at Dara.

"Why? Can't I change here too? It's easier." she repeated the same line he had given her.

"If that's how you want it, we'll go back to the mansion now." He's angry.

"Are you yelling at me?" she raised her brow at this. She was the one who's supposed to be angry not him. He had commanded her. HER. His employer. The one he's guarding. And now he's shouting at her.

"No. Dara..." his voice back to the same gentle and loving voice of Jingyo. "Come on. I really wanted to bring you there but if you're going to act like this, it's better if would postpone our getaway and go there next time."

Dara felt so guilty acting like a stubborn child. "Sorry. I'll go change in the car now."

----------------------------

Jiyong smiled a bit. He's enjoying this so much. It's like reliving the past events in his life and he could not stop himself from grinning like an idiot.

"Yah! Why are you smiling like that. Are you happy to see me struggling here...?? UGh!" she forcefully struck her walking stick on the trail. "Why did not you tell me that we are hiking this mountain? It's so steep!"

Oh, yes. This is certainly a repeat of that time.

Dara almost slipped, good thing is that Jiyong got a hold of her hand before she roll down to the foot of the mountain. He pulled her to him and asked, "Are you okay?"

She was suddenly so aware of their close proximity. The blush wasjust an instant reaction. Her hand was on his shirt. clinging for support and by the time that she realized it, the vision of Jiyong changing awhile ago flashed in her mind, making her face become more red than it is already.

"Hey, D-ah... are you okay?" he gently  tucked her hair behind her ears to get a good look at her. "Dee...? Babe?"

Wait. What did he just call me? Embarrassment all  forgotten. She pushed him away from her. "What did you call me?"

------------------------------

Of all things that I would let slip, why should it be her name. Well, my pet name for her that is. But surely, she would not remember it right?

"Did you just call me, Dee?"

"Huh? What are you saying. I think you are okay now. Let's continue on our way." Jiyong released her, making sure that she'd be okay on her own then gently pushed her towards the peak of the mountain. "Come on, madam. We're almost there."

"Wait. Why are you changing the topic. Why did you call me Dee?" she asked again. she stopped walking and she did not want to continue unless she'd get an answer from him. Maybe an answer she'd been wanting to hear for quite a long time now.

"Ah.. well, it's easier to say than your whole name, miss dara."

"Really?" Her face bore this suspicious look. "Well, how about the 'babe' part?"

"Well, you look like baby crying. That's right!  a cry baby!"

"What?! Yah!!!"

"Hey.. hey I'm just kidding come on we have to get there before noon."

She stomped her feet while scrambling up, holding on the railings that are sunk on the rock.

--------------------------------

She just stood there, silently admiring the beautiful view. It was a picture perfect scenery and she could not take  her eyes off of it. "It's beautiful."

But you are more beautiful than the view you are praising, dearest.

The first time they went here, she had teh same starstruck expression. She had asked him for a distraction since she and his father were having a conflict, which she refuses to tell him.

He's happy that he succeeded in setting her mind somewhere else, even now.

"This is your favorite place? It's amazing!" she exclaimed, her eyes bright and wide like a child's.

"Nuh-ah. This only one of them. Come on, let's eat lunch first then we'll go picture taking, ayt?"

Hearing the word lunch, she immediately run back towards him and happily set up their picnic mat. There were so many people there, mostly families having a good time with one another and also old and young couple enjoying some quality time with one another.

There, at the other side of the peak was the Tae Kuk (Korean Flag).

The fulfillment of finally reaching the top has not gone off yet from Jiyong but Dara seems to be so preoccupied in preparing our meal.

"I am starving! Pppali! I want to eat already!" she said.

This girl had not change one bit. "Don't just stare at me! Aigoo, this jingyo."

"What?"

"Jingyo." she repeated.

"My name is jiyong." his heart beating really fast. Does she remember it for real this time?

"I know. But I feel like calling you Jingyo. So you are Jingyo."

Ha! So much for dreaming man! It will take a long time before she finally remember you.
