Chapter 23

Recap:
“Hyung, YG sunbae might not want me to be at a variety show. He always refuses offers of us guesting on those kind of shows…” he mumbled worriedly. “If that’s the case then I would be happy if I could also try acting or maybe, dubbing? It would be fun to dub the voice of Shinichi Kudo! Hehe.”



“Well, I am sure hyung would allow you whatever you want to do. He always listens to us. Don’t worry. Maybe, he’d allow you to be a host of a comedy show, to act and to dubbed shinichi kudo plus Naruto and Heidi as well!” Seunghyun hyung tried to make Dae believe that what he wants for his solo activities is possible.



“But for now, we have to go back at the dorm and sleep early; we’ll be starting our recording with 2ne1 tomorrow. Let’s go!!!! Whooossshh…” I raced with them back to our van, as the staff at the YG building just smiled and followed our running forms with their eyes, twinkling with amusement.

Present 2009 

Jiyong woke up early today, feeling energized than ever. He was even whistling while cooking the breakfast of the group. He had already finished taking a shower an hour ago and was now busily preparing the meal.

They are going to have a meeting today about the commercial. President Yang called him last night and told him that the company requested him to write the song for the CF. It was a new mobile phone, and from a big company. So if they really want to make 2ne1 big, he should make sure that it’ll be a very catchy song that everyone will love, no matter what age bracket.

“Lollipop. That’s the name of the new phone. And the president wanted to keep it as is. So I guess that’d be the title of the song. It’s up to you to make your mind work and write a song suited for the phone and suited for people as well, describing the new cell and also a person’s feelings. Can you do it?” he remembered the tone of his voice, challenging him to make it happen.

“I will do my best, hyung…”

“Lollipop, huh? Sounds yummy…” he run his tongue on his bottom lip and grinned.

“Hyung you’re up so early…” Seungri’s hoarse voice broke into my ears and looked around just too see him sat at the stool, and rest his head on his arm.

“Yeah, I need to see Teddy hyung this morning.”

“Eh? I thought we’ll start filming the commercial today?”

“Nah, they want me to write a new song that we’re going to perform. So I had meet Teddy hyung today about the song.”

“You’re not going to write it yet before seeing Teddy Hyung?”

“No, I’ll just write it there at the studio. It’ll be faster that way.”

Teddy left Jiyong at the recording studio half past twelve noon. They were just about to start writing the song but YG called Teddy to his office.

“I’ll just ask someone to bring food here for you…” Teddy said, before closing the door.

“Thank you, hyung…”

He still couldn’t think of anything to write. So instead pushing himself, he decided to just take some rest and wait for the food, before starting to work on the song.

He can already hear the angry growl of his tummy, as hunger took over his being. “Agghh…”

He jumped off his seat and lay himself down on the leather couch, trying to forget about his hunger.

He would probably continue sleeping ‘till Teddy comes if not for the person who’s hesitantly hovering above him, battling if she should wake him up or not.

“Oppa…”

He decided to ignore it.

“Jingyo, Oppa…”

Jingyo? Who’s Jingyo?. Was it me? He opened his eyes to see cat’s eyes staring down at him.

“Oppa, Teddy Oppa told me to give this to you…” Chaerin handed him one bag.

“What’s this?”

“Food…”

“Yeah, food. But what is it?”

“You should not ask, just eat it.” she said, sitting down beside him. “You should eat fast!”

“Wae? I haven’t even started yet!” Jiyong got up and sat at the swivel chair he was occupying a moment ago. He put the bag down on the table and started untying the knotted part.

Chaerin jumped beside him and grinned. “You have to eat fast, I want to give the bag back to Teddy Oppa! heehee…”

“And if I don’t?”

“I will spoon feed you…” she grinned evilly.

“No, thank. I can manage.” Jiyong eyed her suspiciously before speaking again. “Why do you have to give it back to Teddy hyung?”

To his surprise, the girl’s face turned a light crimson. “I see… You like him…”

“Kkkk~~~ yeah. I like him. You got a problem with that?” She asked, trying to make her eyes look bigger… and failing.

“Haha. Teddy hyung does not like little girls…”

“Yah! Am not a little girl!” She was about to hit Jiyong’s arm when the glass door was pushed ajar, then fully open, revealing Teddy and Kush.

“Yow! CL~ CL~ CL~” Kush greeted the girl.

“Annyeonghasaeyo, Kush Oppa…”

“How come you know them already? You just got back yesterday…” Jiyong asked, his voice muffled because of the food in his mouth.

“We went here yesterday and met the other staff.” She shrugged and followed Teddy’s form with her eyes.

“Oh really? And why are you here? are the other girls here too?” Is she here too?, that’s what he wanted to ask.

“Yeah, they are. Just talking to the other trainees and dancers.” She left Jiyong’s side and walked around the table where Teddy was trying to mix some monster beat.

“That’s cool, oppa! How do you do that?” she asked curiously. Or that was what she’s trying to make Teddy hyung believe, Jiyong thought as he shook his head.

“Yah, chaerin. You said I should eat fast right?”

“OH! NO!” she half yelled, and then realized what she did, she smiled sweetly at me and continued in a sweeter tone, “No! Oppa. It’s okay! Take your time…”

‘She really likes him…’Jiyong chuckled. “Good luck to you!” Jiyong said aloud.

“Huh?” the two other guys appeared confused at what he had said.

“Hehe. It’s nothing just continue it Hyung!”

Jiyong’s POV

I heard someone push the door open, but I didn’t bother to look who it was. I still haven’t started writing anything yet and I’m feeling quite frustrated. GDragon, a musical genius, eh?

If they only knew… Sigh.

“Yah, let them hear it Noona! Let them hear you sing it! Ppali! Ppali!” Apparently our maknae was one of the people who had just arrived at the studio. I heard Dae, Seunghyun hyung and Bae greeted Kush and Teddy hyung as they followed the maknae.

“Yeah. dara Unnie.. Let them hear it!”

“I don’t want. I’ve already embarrassed myself too much!” My head snapped up in a beat. She’s here…

There she was hiding her face behind her hands, looking pretty in her simply tee and pants.

“What is it?” Teddy hyung asked, curious as to what the others were talking about.

“Dara Noona…” Seungri started but Dara put his hand over his mouth, stopping him from answering Teddy hyung’s question, which doesn’t really matter for they clearly are ganging up on her as the rest of the guys, Bom, and Minzy shouted, “…sang her popular song in the Philippines…!!!”

Philippines? Philippines? I’ve heard of it before…

“Whooohooo!!!!!!!!” their loud cheering distracted my thoughts as I try to remember where I’ve heard it.

“Yay~~ Yay~~” Minzy and Seungri danced as Dara finally agreed on singing her song for them.

I saw her take in a lungful of air before releasing it slowly, as if she’s calming herself.

Dara’s POV



I also sang this song awhile ago in front of many people, the staffs, trainees and dancers along with these traitors here, but why is it that I’m feeling this nervous right now.



Ha. I shouldn’t be asking at all.It’s because of this guy who’s sitting alone, with a stack of paper in front of him. I can feel his eyes staring at me. I couldn’t even look him in the eye.



“Dara Noona…” Seungri started but I put my hand over his mouth, stopping him from answering Teddy oppa's question, which doesn't really matter for they clearly are ganging up on me as the rest of the guys, Bom, and Minzy shouted, “…sang her popular song in the Philippines…!!!”



I saw him frown. Why is he frowning? Why is he frowning? Maybe, he doesn’t want to hear me sing… Then he looked up and met my eyes. And I suddenly blurted, “Okay…”



O.O What… Wait! Wait! I didn’t just say yes, did I? Ohmygaaah!!



“Whooohooo!!!!!!!!” the people in the room cheered for me. “Yay~~ Yay~~” Minzy and Seungri danced as I agreed to sing.



I took in a lungful of air, and released slowly to calm my wildly beating heart. He’s listening to me…

Jiyong’s POV



Philippines….



My eyes fluttered close, darkness enveloping my surroundings.



I heard a girl giggling and laughing happily, with a tambourine and another instrument.



“You’re so excited, wifey.”it was definitely my voice. But... I don’t remember any of these scenes I’m seeing in my mind.



"Of course! We're going to sing! I've always wanted to be a singer!"



She put down the instrument on the table and plopped down on the seat reaching out for the list of songs.



The girl chose to sing a very upbeat song which she accompanied with a weird dance.



"Yah Jiyong! Come on! Sing with me!"



“Dude, are you okay?” My eyes snapped back open once again.



“H-huh?”



“You were mumbling something, Hyung…” Seungri said, looking worried. They were crowding around me.



“I-m… I don’t know…” That girl again. I thought I will not be able to see her anymore. Why am I remembering those scenes when I don’t even remember them happening?



“Maybe, we should all take a rest for now. Go home for now Ji… We’ll continue about the song tomorrow.” I nodded. “And you, Dara. Prepare to sing for us tomorrow, arasseo?”

OMO! Congratulate me!!! It’s not a cliffie! hahaha. Aigoo~ I love cliffies so much that almost every chapter of the fics has one. XDD

Anyway it’s been a long time (again) since I’ve updated this. I am so sorry… But rest assured this will not be abandoned. This is my first ever ficcie, so I wouldn’t dare turn my back on my first ever baby… XD

I’d probably think of doing it but just like any writer, you just can’t quit. sigh.

Anyways. I thought I’m not going to be able to update today since I had just started writing this afternoon.

But I wanted to update it along with sweet_nini’s I am Engaged to an Agent update, so here you go two days earlier than the scheduled update! hahaha.

If I am lucky and don’t have much students tomorrow, might update JABOAE early too ^_^
