Looking out the window, he eyed the fans waving at him, blankly. His windows are tinted and they wouldn't be able to see him even if their life depended on it. His mood isn't that good either. He wanted her to join him on stage today. After all, this is her favorite amongst the rest of his songs in his new album.
"Good luck on your performance, Jagiya! I'm with Baby Rin!" He made face, almost childishly and flipped his phone close.
"What's wrong, G?" His manager asked. He was sitting beside him, at first, as quietly as he could and had been watching him from the moment they got in the van.
"Nothing." Was his curt reply. The manager shook his head, trying to keep his smile in.
"It's her, right?"
it seemed that his persistence worked. The dragon finally looked up from glaring at his phone, to glaring at him, this time. "I just don't really understand why she refused to perform with me. YG hyung already approved. But... argh! Nevermind.!"
They were already at the station where they will be pre-recording another song from his album. All the fans around the venue gathered to greet him but he wasn't in the mood and was a bit feeling under the weather.
He was ushered in his waiting room, and there she was, waiting for him. He sauntered towards Chaerin and sat down next to her, ignoring the other occupant of the room.
"Hmmm, I'll just go look around. I think I saw someone familiar to me when we went in..." Dara slowly rose from the couch and let herself out of the room.
"Oppa, I really tried to convince her but you know how hard-headed unnie is." Chaerin pouted, staring at the door where Dara left. "Please don't be too hard on her. She just worries."
"That's the problem! She always worries!"
"Eh, Jiyong oppa! Don't shout at me!"
Jiyong stood abruptly, and ruffled his hair, irritated at himself and to what his girlfriend does to him. He was about to apologize to Chaerin when the door opened, revealing a petite woman. She was short and spoke with a wheezy like voice.
"It's time." She said, then slammed the door shut back again.
"How rude." Chaerin whispered to herself but still followed the woman out.
Jiyong slumped back down on the couch, "She didn't even come back before I go on stage."
He sighed and stared at the close door, as if willing it to open and present his precious girl.
Jiyong finally stood and murmured to himself, "If this is what you want, then so be it."
---------------------------------------
Dara was standing behind an acquaintance, holding her phone with a firm grip. She watched as Chaerin stormed off towards the studio where they will be pre-recording his new song. She waited for him to follow suit yet a few minutes had passed and he hasn't emerged from the door yet. Dara was about to go in when the door finally opened and Jiyong stalked off to the studio as well. When he was finally out of sight, she waved good bye to her friend and went back inside the waiting room.
He asked her to perform the song with him but refused saying that Sajang-nim would refuse as well. To her surprise, YG sajangnim approved of it. But she has her doubts. She spent hours singing the song with him during the days he was writing it. And she loved it to bits. However, she just feels like her voice wouldn't suit the song and would just drag his performance down. She doesn't want that. She suggested Lydia to be featured. She read the fans comments about how Lydia's perfirmance with jiyong and they were all positive. Her voice suited with Jiyong's quite well. Her voice rich and a bit husky compared to jiyong's smooth and almost high pitched one.
However, Lydia can't perform with him for this broadcast.
She sighed dejectedly, remembering their petty quarel a few days before.
"Dee, if this about you feeling you're not suited to perform with me, just cut it out. I want you with me on stage."
"I can't. Really, besides I have to go somewhere that day. I am not sure if I can even watch you perform."
"Just stop. Stop making excuses."
"I-I'm not making excuses!"
"If you really aren't, what's your agenda that day? And don't tell me it's an event with 2Ne1. You're suggesting I go with Chaerin, right?"
She was silent for a bit and then grinned sheepishly. "Okay, I admit. I don't have anywhere to go to on that day." Dara put her arms around his waist and rest her shoulders on his chest. "Sorry."
Ji smiled down at her, "So you're going to go on stage with me?"
"Uhm, I really want to Ji but..."
"Okay, fine. Just tell chaerin to head to the practice room." Then left without even a single kiss.
The opening of the song woke her up from her thoughts. She stood near the screen and warch him intently. He's superb, as always.
But...
----------------------------------------------
"Oppa," Chaerin approached him before they start. "Unnie's just worried about the rumors. You know that right? She thinks it would be stupid to perform together. Your supporters are too hawked eyed and would definitely spot something. She worries. Not for herself but for you and for us. I told her that whatever comes out of your stage with her won't affect you nor us anymore. But you know how a big of a worrywart she is. Please don't be angry at her. I think she's trying to put the attention to us. I saw her last night reading something in the forum again."
"I'm not. I can never be angry with her." He smiled at her lil sister. "Let's get our message across to her? Surely, she's watching from the waiting room."
'Here it goes...' Jiyong thought. He was still pissed off but he needs to perform this. He made sure to look directly at the camera, knowing she's watching him. Knowing she wouldn't be able to take her eyes off of him. 'Look at me, Dee. Look only at me. And let's pretend we're doing this together.'
-------------------------------------------------
"What kind of performance is that?! You're supposed to be acting like you're together and don't give a damn about other people. But all through out the performance you were dancing like crazy and walking around each other. You should take lessons from me again, you two."
They were all in the waiting room, listening to Dara rant about how it wasn't good enough. Jiyong just stayed put and didn't utter a single word. he stared at her unceasingly, watching her lips move.
"Seriously, Chaerin has to grab your hand and drag you in. You should've done that not her."
"Well, if you were there instead of Rin, I would've done that." Jiyong interjected, leaving Dara speechless.
Chaerin giggled and excused herself. "I think I saw someone familiar to me when I went in..." copying her unnie's alibi a few hours ago.
"Shut up, RiRin!" Dee pouted and acted as if she's going to drag CL back to her. But Jiyong reached out his hand and close it around Dara's wrist, pulling her to him and letting her sit on his lap.
"You know that I want YOU with me there right?"
"You know why I kept lookin' at the camera, right?"
Dara nodded. "You were talking to me again. I told you not to do that."
"Well, I can't help myself. It's you whom I want there and you know how hardheaded I can be. We are much alike in that matter. Besides, they wouldn't even realize that."
"Tsk. Someone did, actually. And she wrote about it on AFF. I'm surprised at how accurate it was. But I know she just wrote that story to cheer applers up. Many are wavering. I saw their posts."
"Well, your fault. You won't even agree to sit beside me during WIN broadcasts. Won't even look at me!"
Dara hugged him and whispered, 'Soon, Jagiya. Soon.' And with a louder voice this time, "I'll go get Chaerin. Let's take some pictures of you two."
"Why don't we take a picture too? I don't have your picture on Insta yet."
"Eh, Ji. You can't!!"
He sniggered, "Fine, I'll just post it on my other twitter account!"
"Absolutely no! Please don't tease!" Dara pouted.
"I told you not to do that, neh?"
"What?"
"That pouty lips thingy or..."
"Or what?"
"Oh, or what? You ask? Let me show yah, gwiyeoun girl."
